Welcome to Seeds of Grace. We are a ministry of Grace Lutheran Church and our prayer is that every child that enters our doors will get to know their personal Savior Jesus Christ. In the book of Mark 10:14, Jesus said, "Let the little children come unto Me." We also follow His word and hope you find Seeds of Grace a warm and inviting place for you and your child.
At Seeds of Grace, we operate our center by recognizing that each child is an individual and must be allowed to grow and learn at his/her own rate in order to develop a healthy self-image. It is the goal of Seeds of Grace to help each child to grow spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually in their own unique way.

Young and Older Infant Programs
At Seeds of Grace, infant care can begin as early as 6 weeks old. Our loving, caring infant teachers sing, read, snuggle and walk with your infant. Our infant room teachers provide a consistent and predictable environment, as well as, a safe and clean area where your baby can creep, crawl, move, toddle, sit, lay, sleep and walk. Your baby will be rocked and cuddled often. They will be spoken to and smiled at throughout the day. Through these positive adult interactions, your infant and our caregivers will build a relationship built on trust, which will create an appropriate environment where learning and growth will happen each day.
All infants are allowed to eat and sleep based on their own individual schedules. There are times throughout the day when the infants may be simultaneously eating, sleeping, diapering, and/or playing outside. However, very little is ever done as a “large” group activity. Diapers will be changed every 2 hours throughout the day, or as needed when a diaper becomes soiled. An Infant Daily Report Form is provided to keep you informed about your child's day at Seeds of Grace.
Toddler and Preschool/Twos Programs
At Seeds of Grace, we provide a consistent and predictable classroom learning environment. Toddlers and Twos learn best through consistent routines and daily schedules. Children at these ages need room to explore and get messy. That is why our Toddler and Two year old classroom teachers provide many hands-on experiences for the children to learn and grow. Each day the teachers will do creative art, read stories, sing songs, listen to music, and participate in gross motor activities on our outdoor playgrounds and/or in our large indoor play space. Through these positive interactions, your toddler and young preschooler will learn about themselves and how to relate to others.
Your toddler will be cared for in a positive and loving manner. They will be rocked and cuddled when needed, and spoken to softly, and smiled at often. Through these positive interactions on a daily basis, your toddler and our caregivers will grow a relationship built on trust, which will create an appropriate environment where learning and growth will happen each day.
Diapers will be changed every 2 hours throughout the day, or as needed when a diaper becomes soiled. Please be sure to take home your child's TODDLER/TWOS DAILY REPORT form each day in order to keep you informed about your child's day at Seeds of Grace Christian Child Development Center.
Threes and Fours Preschool Programs
Most threes and four year olds are full of energy, eagerness and curiosity. During these early Preschool years, motor skills are being perfected and creativity and imagination come into everything. Children can turn a cardboard box into a pet shop, space ship or car, and they make the perfect sounds to go along with it. Their vocabulary and cognitive skills are increasing rapidly, allowing a child to express ideas, solve problems, and plan ahead. Children at these stages strive for independence, yet they need reassurance that an adult is available to give assistance, comfort, and/or to rescue, if need be. Preschool children strongly believe in their own opinions, and at the same time they are developing some sense of the needs of others, and some control over their own behavior. Threes tend to be more peaceful, relaxed and cooperative. As they grow into the four year old age group, children begin to test more limits and have more arguments with parents and other adults, as they are striving to be a “big” boy or girl.
Through positive interactions in the classroom, the children and teachers will develop a bond of trust. Through this relationship, the children will feel comfortable to express their feelings and emotions. Through age-appropriate play with toys and manipulatives throughout the day, children will also learn to interact with one another by sharing, communicating and learning from each other. In this way, each Preschooler begins to develop a stronger sense of self and independence.
Pre-KG Fives Program
Our Pre-KG Program is a place for every child to grow and learn, in every dimension of development. At Seeds of Grace, we take learning very seriously, and we believe your child will blossom and grow in a safe and loving classroom environment. Our curriculum is based on the whole child, and incorporates hands-on learning activities that emphasize the areas of art, language development, science, math, social/emotional activities, religion, walking field trips and more.
Pre-KG children are a bundle of energy and are always on the move. We have a large outdoor play area and a lot of green space for running, jumping, skipping and exploring. We also have a large indoor activity area for days when the weather is not permitting to be outside for active play. In addition, we incorporate Bible time, music, and a lot of reading and stories into our daily curriculum. We believe a positive experience sets the tone for the rest of your child's learning, and it is our goal to give your child the very best educational experiences while they are at Seeds of Grace. We are blessed to be able to teach the future leaders of tomorrow.
Seeds of Grace, a Christian Child Development Center and Preschool in Northbrook, IL is a not-for-profit ministry of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church which is dedicated to providing an early childcare program of the highest quality designed to meet the needs of today's parents.
The school is built on a rich tradition of Christian Education for the past 50 years, and most recently, the success of our 32 year tradition of our beloved Mustard Seed Preschool programs.
